Welcome to my Wine Diary

Hello and welcome to my wine diary!

After having been exploring the world of wine quite chaotically for five years, I recently completed a “Wine Appreciation” course which opened my eyes, my taste buds and created a thirst for wine knowledge and of course, intensified my thirst for wine. I am now building my knowledge by reading several books on wine, following a couple of nice blogs and consulting the net for nearly every wine I drink, trying to figure out what others think of it and why and compare it to my thoughts. Since I never really took any notes on the wines I tasted (quite a shame actually), I decided to start doing it now, so here it is, in a form of a blog. I’m hoping that the blog will generate some feedback which will correct me where I’m wrong.

To summarize, this diary will be a place for me as a relative wine amateur, but still a big wine lover, to post my thoughts on wines I drink. I want to be able to read a post a few months after writing it and know straight away if I liked the wine or not, and why. The wines I buy and will be writing about are in the mid low range of prices (never over 20 euros), so don’t expect to see any rare or fancy wines here! This might change over time!

So, on with the show. Open your taste buds and feel free to post any comments you may have. Cheers!

As you say, the best way to learn about wine is to take tasting notes. Good luck with your blog (be warned though - it is a huge time consumer!).
I look forward to reading more.

I’m starting on the same adventure too. I’ve found that jotting down my thoughts on each bottle not only helps me learn, but also increases my enjoyment of wine, so here goes.
